T-Mobile HTC HD2 tutorial: use HTC HD2 as a usb modem
T-Mobile HTC HD2 can use as a usb modem, maybe you donât know how to do, because it is a little complex. Here I find a tutorial about using it as a usb modem. If we do this work, we can connect our T-Mobile HTC HD2 with internet anywhere and any time. It is very convenient for us. I find the tricks on the official website, but it is very complicated. T-Mobile Phones Question-How to use HTC HD2 as a usb modem:
first: Create a data connection group for Internet access from a computer
Press Start > Settings> Menu > All Settings > Connections > Connections again > the Advanced tab > Select Networks > New… below Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using > Key in COMPUTER and press OK > Press OK twice to exit the menu item.
then: Set up GPRS data connection for Internet access from computer
Press Start > Settings > Menu > All Settings > Connections > Connections again > the Advanced tab > Select Networks > Press the Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using drop down list > Press the data connection group you have set up (COMPUTER) > Press Edit…. > New…. > Press the input field below Enter a name for the connection and key in COMPUTER GPRS > Press the Select a modem drop down list >Press Cellular Line (GPRS) > Next > Press the Access point name input field > Key in general.t-mobile.uk > Press Next > User name input field > Key in user > the Password input field > Key in one2one > Finish > Press the data connection you have just set up (COMPUTER GPRS) or Auto pick> Press OK to activate the data connection > Press OK several times to exit the menu item
Please note: It is not necessary to key in a domain name.
It is not necessary to edit the settings in Advanced….
finally: Establish a data connection from your computer
Press Start >Tools > Internet Sharing > the Network Connection drop down list > Press the data connection you have just set up (COMPUTER GPRS) > Via data cable > Install Microsoft Active Sync which contains the drivers > Press the PC Connection drop down list > USB > Connect the data cable to the phone and to the computer’s USB port > Internet Sharing > Done
A data connection from the computer via the phone to the Internet is automatically established.
Now you can try it and keep on line any time.

I’ve gone through all these steps and even triple checked everything… when I download the windows mobile device center, the end driver will not completely installed, it says the device can not be identified. Also, when I do try to connect from the phone, It says
” Dialed: general.t-mobile.uk.. Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings. If the problem continues, reset your mobile device according to your manufacturer’s documentation and try again”
I’ve tried both “general.t-mobile.uk and general.tmobile.uk…. PLEASE HELP!
